Dr Jitin Sekhri, MD, CFPC

Sports and Exercise Medicine, Minor Surgeries
Born and raised in Belgium, Dr. Sekhri completed an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences at Napier University of Edinburgh, Scotland in 2000, followed by a Masters of Sciences degree in Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Glasgow in 2002. He began his medical studies at the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom, completing his residency training at Cambridge University Hospitals in 2011. He completed a Fellowship in Acute Medicine and Musculoskeletal Medicine through the University of Ottawa in Canada in 2015, and certification with the Canadian Academy of Sports and Exercise Medicine in 2023.
Dr. Sekhri has advanced training in ultrasound-guided injection techniques to complement his practice in Sports and Exercise Medicine, and currently teaches ultrasound skills to other health-care professionals at the national level for accreditation by the Canadian Point of Care Ultrasound Society.
In addition to his work as a family and sports medicine physician, a hospitalist at Hawkesbury General Hospital and an ultrasound instructor, Dr. Sekhri is also formally trained to perform minor surgical procedures including skin biopsies, cyst and lipoma removal and minor skin lesion excisions.
Dr. Jitin Sekhri is a member in good standing of the College of Family Physicians of Canada, the Quebec College of Physicians, the Ontario Medical Association, the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians, the Canadian Association of Sports and Exercise Medicine, and l’Association québécoise des médecins du sport et de l’exercise.
