Microneedling

Microneedling is an aesthetic treatment that enhances collagen and elastin production in the skin by creating tiny superficial micro-injuries with fine needles. This process helps smooth fine lines, reduce wrinkles and scars, and improve the overall texture of the skin.

What is microneedling?

Microneedling, using a device that allows the rapid application of very fine-gauge needles, helps stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, which in turn improves skin texture, minimizes the appearance of acne scars and stretch marks, and diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. In addition, combined with the use of certain serums or growth factor therapy for skin, microneedling stimulates the skin’s natural regeneration process. At Clinique Rejuvena, we use the Dp4 device, the latest technology in microneedling. This allows for faster, safer treatments that produce optimal results. In addition, microneedling is a safe treatment that is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. Recovery time is quite fast and there are few side effects associated with microneedling.

The microneedling procedure:
Step 1:
The skin is cleansed, and an anesthetic solution is applied to the areas to be treated.
Step 2:
A serum or growth factor therapy (skin) is then applied to the areas to be treated (face, neck, décolleté).
Step 3:
The Dp4 device will be gently pressed against your skin, while simultaneously sliding in one direction until the entire treatment area is covered.

FAQ

When can I expect to see results?

Final treatment results are normally observable between 4-6 weeks after a microneedling session. However, the timeline can vary depending on the targeted problem and the suggested treatment plan.

How many sessions are necessary?

The number of microneedling sessions needed to achieve best results depends on the problem to be corrected. An initial course of 3-4 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is often recommended. For deeper skin problems such as acne scars, it may be recommended to receive 6 to 8 sessions. For all patients, it is suggested to do periodic maintenance treatments to maintain the results.

Are there any side effects?

Microneedling treatments are very well-tolerated and safe. Post-treatment, you may experience a sunburn-like sensation with a feeling that your skin is dry. Redness and swelling at the treatment sites are the most common side effects but normally resolve within 24-48 hours of treatment. In some cases, small bruises may occur and last for 5-7 days.

Is the microneedling treatment painful?

Microneedling is not very painful. We always apply a topical anesthetic cream to the treated area in order to make the procedure more comfortable.

What are the contraindications to microneedling treatment?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive technique that is safe on all skin types. However, this treatment is not recommended for:

  • Patients under 20 years of age
