What is MP2 Radiofrequency?
The MP2 device emits radiofrequency waves and electromagnetic waves onto tissues to damage existing collagen and stimulate the body’s healing response. Once collagen has been damaged, the body begins to replace it with new collagen.
Radiofrequency also stimulates the body to produce new fibroblasts, which are the cells that produce collagen. This results in new, higher quality collagen. This healing response creates a smoother appearance of the skin, diminishes fine lines and wrinkles, and reduces the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks.
The pulsed electromagnetic field of MP2 increases the vascularization of the skin and creates new pathways for blood circulation. This increase in blood flow to the treated area will provide more oxygen to the skin and bring more nutrients to the tissues, giving

When can I expect to see results?
Since the MP2 procedure targets collagen production and restructuring, results will not be visible immediately after the treatment. Though the maximum effect will be observed about three months after the last treatment, some people notice results much faster.
How many treatments are needed to achieve optimal results?
Although the body’s response varies from person to person, a series of 6 to 8 initial MP2 treatments at one-week intervals is usually recommended to achieve optimal results. Thereafter, a maintenance treatment should be performed every 6-12 months in order to maintain results.
How do you properly prepare your skin for an MP2 treatment?
One week before the treatment, it is advisable to:
- Stop applying products that might increase skin sensitivity such as retinoids, exfoliants and topical antibiotics.
- Avoid waxing, depilatory creams or electrolysis on the areas to be treated.
What to expect after treatment?
MP2 radiofrequency treatments require no recovery time. The treated area may be a little red and warm to the touch immediately post-treatment, but these effects will disappear within 1 to 2 hours. You can resume your daily activities immediately after each
session.
What are the contraindications to MP2 radiofrequency treatment?
Although it is a very safe technology, there are some contraindications to the use of Venus MP2 technology.
Among other things, the MP2 procedure cannot be carried out if:
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have an active infection in the area to be treated
- You have an metal implants in the area to be treated
- You have undergone a medical-cosmetic procedure in the area to be treated in the month prior to the treatment
