Unlike dermal fillers, the hyaluronic acid contained in SKINVIVE does not create volume; it functions to hydrate, plump and nourish the skin deeply and durably to counteract the effects of skin aging. The treatment is effective in improving the texture, hydration and elasticity of the skin and the results of a treatment normally last for a period of up to 9 months. SKINVIVE™ acts as a complement to fillers by improving the appearance of the skin on the face and neck.
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in all tissues of the human body. Its hydrophilic properties allow it to retain water. In the skin, hyaluronic acid helps maintain the elasticity and suppleness of the skin. Humans both create and break down a large amount of hyaluronic acid every day for tissue renewal. With aging, the body's production of hyaluronic acid slows down, causing the skin to become less hydrated and lose its elasticity and firmness.
There are several types of hyaluronic acid depending on their density. In some types of hyaluronic acid injections, a dense solution is used for maximum volumizing effect. This is particularly the case with injections aimed at plumping the lips or accentuating certain volumes of the face (such as the cheekbones).
The hyaluronic acid contained in SKINVIVE™ is less dense and made up of finer particles that hydrate and deeply nourish the skin rather than adding volume.
A treatment with SKINVIVE™ has many indications and allow results to be obtained on all skin types.
After disinfection of the skin in the treated area, the product is injected into the skin using a very fine needle. The product can be injected alone or during a treatment session with dermal fillers.
The treatment is not very painful. The needles used are very fine. Before starting the treatment, it is possible to apply a local anesthetic to minimize the discomfort.
