FAQ
The number of sessions required depends on the problem to be corrected. Although the response varies from person to person, a series of 3-4 initial treatments, at 4-week intervals, is usually recommended to achieve optimal results. Thereafter, a maintenance treatment should be performed every 6-12 months in order to maintain results.
- Avoid applying products that can increase skin sensitivity such as retinoids, exfoliants, and topical antibiotics.
- Avoid waxing, depilatory creams or electrolysis on the areas to be treated.
Swelling and redness on the treated area may occur as a result of your procedure and will be heightened during the 24-48 hours immediately after the treatment. It is not uncommon for some patients to see the area under the eyes swollen for the first few days after the procedure, but this swelling normally resolves quickly.
There will be moderate heat emanating from your skin in the treated area for the first 24 hours – it will have a sensation similar to a slight sunburn. You can remedy this by ventilating or exposing the area to fresh air. Do not apply anything to your skin, not even tap water, for a minimum of 4 hours.
Avoid perspiring if possible, and do not apply any makeup on the day of your appointment. It is preferable to apply mineral and non-chemical sun protection, with a minimum SPF of 30 in the days following your treatment. In addition, avoid intensive exercises, hot baths or massages of the area to be treated for the first two days after the session.
Although it is a very safe technology, there are some contraindications to the use of the Venus Viva technology. The procedure should not be carried out if:
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have an active infection in the area to be treated
- You have a metal implant in the area to be treated
Again, prior to treatment, a complete evaluation including a health questionnaire will be carried out by our professional to ensure that you are a good candidate for Venus Viva, and that the treatment is carried out safely.
